Help is here for finding the best yoga mat!
I have been practicing and teaching yoga for 15 years now (and that is almost half my age) and what can make or break a yoga practice can often boil down to what kind of mat you are using. I have practiced and sampled dozens of yoga mats and in the quest for finding the best yoga mat, my personal favorite by far is the Jade Yoga mat! The recycled material is sweat absorbent, comes in extra long and extra wide, plus it comes in great colors and is made in the USA. It’s is our top seller at Copper Tree Yoga Studio.
Not sure what yoga mat is best for you?… No worries.
Finding The Best Yoga Mat
recently concluded their yoga mat project where they looked to find the best yoga mat on the market. Yoga mats have been in use for a relatively short amount of time compared to the practice of yoga, which has been around for over 5,000 years.
The team spent over 50 hours researching the history, technology, brands and customer reviews of various yoga mats. Over 100 yoga practitioners of all levels and styles were surveyed to get an idea of their preferences, and ten yoga professionals were consulted. 80 publications, blogs, and reviews such as Amazon, REI, Yoga Consumer Reports, Outdoor Magazine, Yoga Journal and DoYouYoga were analyzed until the research team was able to develop a list of the 15 best yoga mats on the market. The criteria for making this list included the number of positive reviews, experiences, recognition and what the professional yogis had to say about the mats they were using.
also personally tested these mats in a variety of conditions such as studios that were heated and unheated, on carpets, on hardwood floors and put these mats through a typical 60-minute yoga class. The focus was on the mats traction, density, comfort, stability, weight, size, eco-footprint, and color. The price was a minor factor because most yoga practitioners didn’t mind paying more for a top quality mat that suited their needs.
The team came up with 9 overall best yoga mats that blew away the competition – one of these being the Jade Harmony Professional mat. They rated this mat as the best eco-friendly yoga mat. It’s superb balance of traction and support make this a favorite among yoga professionals everywhere. It’s made from all-natural rubber and is extra long. To make it even better, JadeYoga plants a tree for every yoga mat they sell.
Choosing a yoga mat
There are many factors to consider when choosing a mat. It should be seen as an investment, and a person should test a number of yoga mats before making a decision. Ultimately, choosing a yoga mat is a personal preference, and it should be something that improves an individual’s yoga practice.
