When you are a small business owner, there are so many different things that you have to consider in the successful running of your company. It is almost guaranteed that you are going to forget one or two of them. Well, in this article, we are going to check out a few of the most commonly overlooked aspects of running a business to find out whether or not you have considered them. Either this will give you peace of mind that you have these things sorted or it will give you a timely reminder to get on top of them.

Legal Representation
You never know when legal representation may come in useful during the life of your business, but they can provide you with advice that proves to be invaluable somewhere down the line. Try to get as many free consultations as you can so you can weigh up all the options available to you. If you can choose one that specialises in your specific area of business, this is even better as you can be more assured that they have the relevant experience and credentials.
Employee Retention
When you start running a business, often so much thought goes into hiring employees in the first place that you don’t consider retaining them so much. At some point down the line, you need to entice them with more than just a basic salary by offering benefits such as holidays, retirement plans, and other perks of the job. You should also consider building flexibility into the job as this is something that more and more employees are after.
Insurance Costs
Of course, it is always a good idea to be optimistic in business, but times will inevitably get tough somewhere along the road. So, cover your assets when disaster strikes by ensuring that you have all the relevant types of insurance. Make sure that you are covered for all the different eventualities and circumstances that may occur as the last thing that you want to find is that you aren’t covered.
Software Tools
Software is such an integral part of the modern business, and there are so many tools out there that can make your life that little bit easier. HR Management Software will cover this often overlooked aspect of business, while payroll for small businesses will ensure that your finances are taken care of systematically. Choose the software carefully by checking out what people are saying online or speaking to other business owners who already use it.
Customer Payments
Surprising as it may seem, many business owners are not as focused as they need to be about making sure that they get paid on time. All your invoices need to have clear payment dates, and you should be on top of all of them so that customers aren’t taking you for a ride.
If you have read through this list and feel like you are overlooking any of these things, now is the time to make a change to ensure the successful running of your business.

When entrepreneurs talk about money, the conversation almost always centers around strategy. Root Chakra Financial Abundance
We focus on pricing models, marketing funnels, sales psychology, and scaling systems. And while those things matter, they are not the full picture. Because underneath every financial decision you make is something far more powerful-and often overlooked:
Your sense of safety.
This is where the connection between root chakra and money becomes not just interesting-but essential.
If your body does not feel safe, supported, and grounded, it will be incredibly difficult to create consistent, sustainable financial growth-no matter how strong your business strategy is.
And this is the missing link for so many entrepreneurs, coaches, and wellness leaders.
Understanding the Root Chakra: Your Foundation for Everything
The root chakra, also known as Muladhara, is the first of the seven main energy centers in the body. It is located at the base of your spine and governs your most basic human needs:
- Safety
- Stability
- Security
- Survival
This includes your relationship with:
- Money
- Home
- Work
- Physical well-being
When your root chakra is balanced, you feel grounded. You trust that you are supported. You move through life with a sense of stability-even when things are uncertain.
But when your root chakra is dysregulated or blocked, everything starts to feel shaky.
And one of the first places you’ll notice that instability?
Your finances.
The Root Chakra and Money Connection
Money is more than currency.
Money represents safety, choice, freedom, and survival. It is deeply tied to your nervous system and your body’s perception of security.
So when we talk about root chakra and money, we’re really talking about this:
How safe do you feel having, earning, and holding money?
Because your answer to that question determines more than you think.
If your body associates money with stress, pressure, or instability, you may unconsciously:
- Push money away
- Undersell your services
- Avoid financial visibility
- Struggle to maintain consistent income
- Feel anxious even when you’re earning well
This isn’t about discipline.
It’s about regulation.
Why Grounding Matters More Than Strategy
You can have the best business plan in the world-but if your nervous system is in a constant state of stress, your actions will reflect that.
You might:
- Make rushed decisions
- Undercharge out of fear
- Overwork to feel “safe”
- Avoid growth opportunities
Grounding brings you back into your body.
And when you are grounded, you:
- Think more clearly
- Make aligned decisions
- Feel safe taking action
- Trust your timing
This is why grounding is not just a wellness practice-it’s a business strategy.
Signs Your Root Chakra Is Impacting Your Financial Flow
Many high-performing entrepreneurs don’t realize that their financial patterns are rooted in nervous system dysregulation.
Here are some common signs your root chakra and money connection may be out of balance:
1. Constant Financial Anxiety
Even when income is steady, you feel like it could disappear at any moment.
2. Inconsistent Income Cycles
You experience financial highs followed by unexpected lows.
3. Overworking for Security
You equate productivity with safety and struggle to rest.
4. Avoidance of Financial Awareness
You procrastinate looking at your numbers, invoices, or accounts.
5. Difficulty Receiving
You feel uncomfortable being paid well or supported financially.
These are not mindset failures.
They are signals from your body asking for stability.
Grounding Practices to Support Financial Abundance
If you want to shift your financial reality, you don’t start with more hustle-you start with more safety.
Here are grounded, practical ways to begin healing your root chakra:
1. Reconnect With Your Body Daily
Simple practices can make a powerful difference:
- Walking barefoot on the ground
- Gentle yoga or stretching
- Deep, slow breathing
These practices signal to your nervous system that you are safe.
And safety is the foundation of abundance.
2. Create a Weekly Money Ritual
Instead of avoiding your finances, create a calm and intentional space to engage with them.
Set aside time each week to:
- Review your income
- Track expenses
- Celebrate wins
Do this without judgment.
Consistency builds trust.
3. Slow Down Financial Decisions
When your nervous system is dysregulated, urgency often takes over.
Grounding allows you to pause, reflect, and respond-rather than react.
This leads to:
- Better investments
- More aligned pricing
- Stronger boundaries
4. Shift From Scarcity to Stability
Scarcity says: “There’s never enough.”
Stability says: “I am supported.”
You don’t need to force abundance.
You need to create an internal environment where abundance feels safe to land.
Why This Work Matters for Entrepreneurs
As an entrepreneur, your energy leads your business.
If your foundation is unstable, your business will reflect that.
But when you stabilize your root chakra:
- Your income becomes more consistent
- Your decisions become more grounded
- Your growth becomes sustainable
You stop chasing money-and start holding it.
A New Definition of Abundance
Abundance is not just about how much money you make.
It’s about how safe you feel with what you have.
It’s about:
- Trusting yourself
- Feeling supported
- Moving from stability-not fear
This is the true power of aligning your root chakra and money.
Because when your foundation is strong, everything else has room to grow.

When I Feel Stuck, I Tend to My Plants 🌿
When I feel stuck, overwhelmed, or mentally foggy, I don’t always journal.
I don’t always strategize.
I don’t always push harder.
I go outside and tend to my plants.
It might sound simple. Maybe even insignificant. But over time, I’ve realized something powerful: I gain mental clarity through gardening in ways I don’t always get from sitting at my desk trying to “figure it out.”
There’s something about dirt under your nails and sunlight on your skin that resets your nervous system in a way productivity hacks never could.
Stuck Isn’t Always Laziness — It’s Overload
When I say “stuck,” I don’t mean unmotivated.
I mean:
- Overthinking.
- Decision fatigue.
- Emotional buildup.
- Too many voices.
- Too much input.
- Not enough grounding.
As a leader, parent, entrepreneur, and human navigating growth, I carry a lot of mental responsibility. Sometimes the brain just needs space.
And that’s where tending to my plants comes in.
Not as avoidance, but as alignment.
Why Gardening Clears the Head
There’s science behind why we experience mental clarity through gardening.
When you work with your hands in nature:
- Your stress hormones decrease.
- Your breathing naturally slows.
- Your body moves in a rhythmic, grounding way.
- You shift from mental problem-solving to physical presence.
Plants don’t rush.
They don’t compare.
They don’t strive.
They grow steadily, responding to light, water, and care.
When I water, prune, re-pot, or pull weeds, I’m reminded that growth doesn’t happen by force. It happens by tending.
And sometimes what feels “stuck” in life just needs tending, not tearing apart.
Plants Teach Patience
One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned through mental clarity through gardening is this:
You can’t rush growth.
You can support it.
You can nurture it.
You can create the right conditions.
But you cannot force it.
How often do we try to force clarity? Force results? Force outcomes?
When I step into my garden, I remember:
- Seasons matter.
- Rest matters.
- Roots matter.
- Timing matters.
Sometimes what feels like stagnation is actually rooting.
A Different Kind of Productivity
There’s something healing about doing something that doesn’t need to be monetized.
Tending to plants doesn’t grow my business.
It doesn’t increase revenue.
It doesn’t create content.
But it grows me.
And that matters.
In a world where everything is measured by output, going outside and pulling weeds feels rebellious in the best way.
It reconnects me to:
- Simplicity
- Creation
- Stewardship
- Presence
That’s the quiet power of mental clarity through gardening.
Nature Mirrors Our Inner World
I’ve noticed something else.
When my plants are thriving, it’s usually because I’ve been consistent.
When they’re struggling, it’s usually because I’ve been distracted.
Isn’t that true of us too?
We thrive when we are watered, physically, emotionally, spiritually.
We wilt when we ignore our needs.
Sometimes tending to plants helps me see what I’ve been neglecting in myself.
Am I resting?
Am I hydrated?
Am I grounded?
Am I rushing?
The garden becomes a mirror.
It’s Not About the Plants
Let’s be clear, it’s not really about the plants.
It’s about creating space.
It’s about stepping away long enough to let your nervous system regulate.
It’s about allowing your subconscious to untangle what your conscious mind keeps gripping.
Some of my clearest decisions have come not from sitting in front of a screen, but from standing in my yard with a watering can.
Because clarity rarely comes when you chase it.
It comes when you soften.
If You Feel Stuck…
If you feel stuck right now, try this:
🌿 Step outside.
🌿 Touch something living.
🌿 Breathe slowly.
🌿 Do something physical but gentle.
🌿 Stop trying to solve everything for 20 minutes.
You might find that what you needed wasn’t another strategy, it was grounding.
Mental clarity through gardening isn’t just a cute idea.
It’s nervous system regulation.
It’s embodiment.
It’s reconnection.
And sometimes the most powerful breakthroughs happen when you stop pushing and start tending.
Growth Is Quiet
The older I get, the more I realize that growth isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it looks like:
- Pulling weeds.
- Re-potting a root-bound plant.
- Trimming what’s overgrown.
- Watering what’s dry.
And sometimes it looks like tending to yourself the same way.
When I feel stuck or need to clear my head, I go tend to my plants.
And almost every time, I come back clearer.
Calmer.
Rooted.

How to Build Daily Nervous System Resets Into Your Workday (Without Losing Momentum)
Entrepreneurship isn’t a sprint – and it’s not really a marathon either.
It’s a long, ever-changing journey that demands resilience, emotional stability, creativity, and clarity.
But here’s the truth no one talks about enough:
Your ability to lead, decide, create, and grow is directly tied to how regulated your nervous system is.
A dysregulated nervous system leads to:
- Constant stress
- Overwhelm
- Irritability
- Decision fatigue
- Burnout
- “Pushing harder” instead of working smarter
And when that becomes your norm, success starts to feel harder than it needs to be.
This year, instead of only focusing on bigger goals, smarter strategies, or stronger habits, I want to invite you into something more sustainable:
Create Daily Nervous System Reset Routines.
Not complicated rituals…
Not expensive tools…
Not time-consuming programs…
Just small intentional practices built into your day that bring you back to safety, clarity, and grounded energy.
Because when your nervous system feels safe,
your business feels easier.
Let’s walk through exactly how to do it.
Step 1: Understand Why Daily Resets Matter
Your nervous system is constantly scanning for danger – physically, emotionally, socially, and psychologically.
Deadlines.
Difficult conversations.
Financial uncertainty.
Overloaded schedules.
Endless notifications.
Individually, these things don’t seem big.
But stacked repeatedly, they keep your body stuck in stress mode.
And when the body lives in stress mode:
- Creativity shuts down
- Focus becomes scattered
- Relationships strain
- Your health declines
- You react instead of respond
Daily nervous system reset routines help you:
✔ shift from survival mode to calm clarity
✔ return your body to regulation
✔ create safety internally (even when life is uncertain)
This isn’t about escaping your responsibilities.
It’s about supporting your system so you can handle them with strength and steadiness.
Step 2: Anchor Resets Into Transitions
One of the easiest ways to build nervous system resets into your workday is to pair them with natural transitions.
For example:
Before you open email
Place one hand on your chest and take five slow breaths.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Remind yourself: “I can respond, I don’t have to react.”
Before a meeting
Turn your head side to side gently, letting your eyes look left and right.
This subtle movement tells the brain: You are not in danger.
After completing a task
Stand up, stretch, and exhale with sound.
Let your body release instead of jumping straight into the next thing.
These micro-moments aren’t wasted time.
They give you time back by helping your brain re-focus faster.
The keyword here is daily nervous system reset – small, consistent, repeatable.
Step 3: Choose One Reset Morning, Midday, and Evening
Instead of building a long checklist, start simply.
Morning Nervous System Reset
- Gentle neck stretches
- A short grounding meditation
- Journaling one intention:
“Today, I commit to staying present.”
Midday Nervous System Reset
- Step outside for two minutes
- Feel fresh air
- Take slow, deep belly breaths
- Let your shoulders drop
Evening Nervous System Reset
- Light stretching or restorative yoga
- Gratitude reflection
- Reducing screen exposure before bed
These practices remind your body:
“You’re safe. You don’t need to be ‘on’ anymore.”
And when your body relaxes, your performance improves.
Step 4: Reframe Rest as a Business Strategy
Many entrepreneurs struggle with nervous system work because it feels like:
“I don’t have time for this.”
But here’s the reframe:
A regulated nervous system increases productivity, creativity, and emotional resilience.
Meaning:
Rest, grounding, and self-regulation are leadership tools, not luxuries.
When you intentionally build in a daily nervous system reset, you are:
- Making clearer decisions
- Reducing emotional reactivity
- Supporting your long-term health
- Leading from alignment rather than urgency
Your future business depends on how you care for your current nervous system.
Step 5: Practice Self-Compassion While You Learn
This isn’t about perfection.
Some days you’ll forget.
Some days you’ll get pulled back into hustle mode.
Some days the reset will feel awkward or pointless.
That’s okay.
Healing your nervous system is about repetition, not performance.
Meet yourself with compassion, curiosity, and patience.
That gentle attitude is itself a nervous system reset.
Research Supports Nervous System Resets
Studies continue to show that deep breathing, grounding exercises, and mindfulness practices help regulate stress responses and improve emotional resilience.
Your body is built to heal.
We simply need to give it space to do so.
Final Thoughts
You don’t need to overhaul your life to feel more regulated, calm, and capable.
You simply need to build daily nervous system reset routines that support your natural rhythm.
Because when your nervous system feels supported…
your vision becomes clearer, your intuition grows stronger, and your energy becomes aligned with success.
And that, more than any strategy, is what sustains you long-term.

If you feel scattered, stuck, or unsure of your next step, this might surprise you. You’re not doing too much. You’re just overwhelmed. This shift in perspective changed everything for me. Read the full blog at HopeZvara.com. overwhelm and clarity
You’re Not Doing Too Much. You’re Just Overwhelmed.
A friend recently said something to me that changed how I see my life right now.
2025 brought a lot with it. Ups and downs. Unexpected twists. Personal growth paired with uncertainty. Add in hormones, family dynamics, responsibilities, and the constant noise of the world, and suddenly it felt like I was carrying a weight I could not quite name.
After sharing everything that felt heavy, complicated, or confusing, my friend looked at me and said something simple but powerful.
Hope, you’re not doing too much. You’re not in the wrong lane. You’re just overwhelmed.
That word stopped me in my tracks.
Overwhelmed.
At first, I resisted it. I told myself I was just busy. Just managing life. Just doing what needed to be done. But as we slowed the conversation down, it became clear that overwhelm does not always look like chaos. Sometimes it looks like competence without clarity.
Overwhelm Is Not a Character Flaw
We often confuse overwhelm with failure. We assume that feeling scattered means we are doing something wrong, choosing the wrong path, or not cut out for the life we are building.
But overwhelm is not a lack of ability. It is a lack of organization and prioritization.
When everything feels important, nothing feels clear.
As we talked, we mapped out every major area of my life and work. Not to eliminate them, but to see them clearly. Somewhere along the way, I had forgotten that prioritization is a skill, not a personality trait.
And once I could see everything laid out, something obvious but powerful emerged.
In order to get to Y, you first have to do X.
Simple. Obvious. Yet incredibly easy to miss when you are in the middle of it all.
Why Overwhelm Feels So Common Right Now
Today’s world makes overwhelm almost unavoidable.
We are constantly exposed to opinions about who we should be, what we should want, how fast we should be moving, and what success is supposed to look like. Even when we think we are not absorbing it, our nervous system is.
Social comparison, information overload, and the pressure to always be evolving create a low-grade stress response that clouds clarity. The brain, when overloaded, defaults to avoidance or overthinking. Neither leads to action.
This is where overwhelm and clarity become opposites.
Clarity comes from narrowing focus, not shrinking ambition.
The Cost of Doing Nothing
Here is the part most people do not want to hear.
Feeling overwhelmed is not the problem. Doing nothing because of it is.
No action is the most damaging action.
When we pause indefinitely waiting for certainty, motivation, or a sign, we stay stuck in the same mental loop. The body holds that tension. The mind spins. Confidence erodes.
What actually breaks overwhelm is movement with intention.
Not doing everything. Doing the right thing next.
What Changed When I Got Clear
Once I organized my priorities and named what truly mattered in this season, something interesting happened.
Almost immediately, two new opportunities showed up that aligned with what I had clarified. One was a client booking me to help their organization navigate emerging speaking trends for 2026. The other was something harder to explain but impossible to ignore.
My body felt lighter.
Not metaphorically. Physically.
When the nervous system perceives order and direction, it releases tension. That is not mindset talk. That is physiology. The body responds to clarity.
This is why overwhelm and clarity are so deeply connected.
Self-Care Is Not What We’ve Been Sold
We often think of self-care as something external. Rest, time off, a massage, a walk, a good book.
Those things matter, but they are incomplete.
Sometimes, self-care is sitting down with yourself and telling the truth.
Sometimes, self-care is organizing your priorities so your mind can stop carrying everything at once.
Sometimes, self-care is choosing direction over distraction.
This kind of self-care does not look glamorous, but it is deeply regulating.
Moving Forward With Clarity
As I step into 2026, I am not pretending everything is perfectly mapped out. Life shifts. Seasons change. New information emerges.
But I am grounded.
I know my lanes. I know my priorities. And I have committed to checking in with myself regularly instead of waiting until overwhelm forces me to.
If you are feeling scattered, unsure, or behind, I want you to hear this clearly.
You are not broken.
You are not failing.
You are not doing too much.
You might simply be overwhelmed and in need of clarity.
And clarity is something you can create.
Here’s to exhaling.
Here’s to choosing direction over noise.
Here’s to moving forward with intention.
With love,
Hope
overwhelm and clarity

What Is Your Nervous System?
The nervous system is your body’s control center. It not only tells your muscles when to move or your lungs when to breathe but also constantly evaluates your environment to keep you safe. At the heart of this system is the autonomic nervous system (ANS), which manages functions that happen automatically, like your heartbeat, digestion, and stress response.
This system has two main branches: the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.
Sympathetic Nervous System: The Gas Pedal
Think of this as your “fight or flight” system. When you perceive danger (even a stressful email can count), your sympathetic nervous system triggers a cascade of reactions: increased heart rate, shallow breathing, dilated pupils, and diverted blood flow away from digestion. This makes sense if you’re running from a bear, but not great when it happens all day long from work stress.
Parasympathetic Nervous System: The Brake Pedal
This is your “rest and digest” mode. It helps your body calm down, lower your heart rate, promote digestion, and repair tissues. It brings balance after periods of stress and is critical for healing and recovery.
Why Balance Matters
When your sympathetic nervous system is chronically activated without enough parasympathetic recovery time, your body starts to show signs of wear and tear: chronic fatigue, anxiety, poor digestion, and brain fog, to name a few. Maintaining balance between the two is essential for long-term health.
How to Support Balance in Daily Life
- Practice mindfulness or meditation daily.
- Prioritize deep, diaphragmatic breathing.
- Get enough sleep and limit stimulants like caffeine.
- Take movement breaks throughout the day.
- Laugh and connect with others often.
Understanding your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system empowers you to take control of your health. Once you know how your body works, you can create small shifts that bring long-lasting change.
